Top 10 Kicks of 2019

10) Nike Blazer Mid '77. These Nike blazers brought back a reminiscing feeling of the 70's. Nike released colorway after colorway of the vintage looking shoe, which has a very similar design to the OG Blazers.


9) Comme De Garcons Play x Chuck 70 Hi Top. The Comme de Garcon and Converse collab has been popular for some time now. We think the multi heart rendition was a huge hit in 2019, coming in both white and black.

8) Yeezy Boost 700 V2 'Hospital Blue'. What's a sneaker countdown without Yeezys? This unique colorway brought a fresh image to the older Boost model. Kanye 2020?


7) Air Force 1 Low 'Star Studded'. Air force 1's will forever be a staple sneaker. With stars being such a big trend in 2019, this sneaker rendition with 3D silver studs was a big hit in our books. Comfortable but trendy.


6) Air Max 95 'Have a Nike Day'. The Have a Nike Day campaign was a huge success for the company in 2019. We enjoyed the colorway on this Air Max 95. The black base really brings out the pop of pastel colors and certainly makes my day.


5) Air Jordan 1 'Panda'. With premium white leather and a fuzzy black accent, these Jordan's dropped in honor of the 2019 Kentucky Derby. These high tops add a fun twist and bring back a retro feel to the classic Air Jordan.


4) Stranger Things x Blazer Mid QS 'Upside Down'. Stranger Things season 4 came out earlier this year, which calls for a sneaker collab. This unique shoe has an outer layer that can be burned to reveal a darker under layer representing the infamous Upside Down.


3) Sacai x LDWaffle 'Varsity Blue'. Sacai, a Japanese based luxury brand, experienced a huge hit this past year with their Nike collab. The architecture on this shoe draws interest, but is still practical. The primary colors gave us old school vibes which differ from the modern design of the shoe.


2) OFF-WHITE x Air Presto 'White'. Designer Virgil has done it again. From Hailey Bieber's wedding dress to these Air Presto's, he had a great year. This shoe has many small details that make the shoe interesting to look at. We love this "Sneaker".


1) Air Force 1 LV8 KSA '3D Glasses'. After a poll taken on our Instagram, @kicksofcuse, our fans responded and let us know Air Force 1's were their favorite shoe of the year. This 3D rendition draws on our childhood emotions. I'll be watching Toy Story 4 in these bad boys.

From sneaker heads to hype beasts, young adults are crazy over copping the newest sneaker drops coming from brands and collaborations such as Nike, Adidas, Air Jordan, Yeezys and Off-White. Our goal for Kicks of Cuse is to better represent this sneaker community on campus. Kicks of Cuse works like this; we will ask our friends and random students on campus to photograph their shoes and provide a short snippet about why they wear the shoes they do.  This will give us insight into the student's life, interests and personality. Taste of shoes can vary drastically, as we want students to get to know one another by the shoes on their feet. Each photo and quote that we take is posted to our Instagram, @KicksOfCuse so our followers can get to know one another by 'walking a day in their shoes'. Although Kicks of Cuse is based out of Syracuse University, we hope to gain more traction, and in the near future spread Kicks of Cuse to different college campuses.

History of the Nike Air Force 1

     According to our followers on Instagram, the most popular sneaker currently is the Nike Air Force 1. So when did this sneaker come about?      The original Air Force 1 sneaker came out in 1982 and was soon discontinued in 1984. The modern sneaker design with the Nike swoosh was released in 1986. Since them, tons of different variations and colorways of the shoe have been created. The shoes are sold in 5 different styles including low, mid, superlow, high and super high.      As far as fashion trends go, these shoes were very popular in the late 80's and early 90's after their final release date. Soon after this though they became "uncool" and were not the most popular shoe teens were buying.
