Sneakers vs Winter

Image
Ah, winter in Syracuse, NY has finally arrived. You know what that means, snow, snow and more snow. Tons of snow. Snow everyday, whipping winds and below freezing temperatures. Why did we choose to come to school here again? Winter can be a horrible season for your fancy, white sneakers. Many think it's a season to throw your kicks in the closet and take out boots. However, this doesn't have to be the case anymore. Did you know you have the ability to waterproof your shoes? CREP sneaker protect spray allows your shoes to repel water and any other substance that may come its way. It is also extremely easy to use. Simply spray your sneakers (like your using a spray paint can), wait ten minutes and repeat the process. Then, your sneakers will be able to withstand the weather and all that comes their way. From personal experience, CREP has proven itself worthy. With it, I have no fear about wearing my sneakers in the snow. Now, we never have to put our amazing sneakers away for...

History of the Nike Air Force 1

Image
According to our followers on Instagram, the most popular sneaker currently is the Nike Air Force 1. So when did this sneaker come about?      The original Air Force 1 sneaker came out in 1982 and was soon discontinued in 1984. The modern sneaker design with the Nike swoosh was released in 1986. Since them, tons of different variations and colorways of the shoe have been created. The shoes are sold in 5 different styles including low, mid, superlow, high and super high.      As far as fashion trends go, these shoes were very popular in the late 80's and early 90's after their final release date. Soon after this though they became "uncool" and were not the most popular shoe teens were buying. Today, Air Force 1's are extremely popular and seen as a staple shoe across the campus of Syracuse University.      With this shoe, you can go classic with the traditional low all white model, or spice it up with the new Air Forc...

These shoes have grown so much popularity and I think it's because of various different reasons. One of the reasons being that you can wear these boots with almost any kind of outfit, I've worn them with shorts, jeans, leggings, etc. You can dress them up and wear them with a cute sundress or dress them down and wear them with a pair of joggers. I also love them because I can wear them in any type of weather: hot weather, rainy weather even snowy weather! I've grown to see that many people across campus have these boots or different versions of them. I've been seeing the platform version of these boots which I've grown to love a...

Name: Andrea Bianco Year: Sophomore Major: Information Management & Technology Hometown: Long Island, New York Hobbies: Socializing, Exercising  Favorite Sneaker: I believe your shoe can either make or break an outfit. My outfit feels totally ruined when I wear a shoe that doesn't compliment it. I have gathered quite the sneaker collection over the years most of them including a variation of Air Force 1's. I would describe my style as very laid back and matching my outfit with a pair of Air Forces never goes wrong. Not only do I love my classic plain white ones, but I am addicted to finding crazy new styles of them because you can dress them up or down. I think I realized my collection when I was trying to decide how many pairs I can fit in my dorm closet. I love the personalized look of the sneaker when they are painted on differently then they actually sell in stores. I find a majority of my coolest sneakers on Instagram accounts t...

Creator Spotlight - Kat Alnwick

Name: Katherine Alnwick Year: Junior Major: Information Management & Technology Hometown: Long Island, NY Hobbies: Running, Cooking, Shopping, Yoga Favorite Sneaker: If you know me, you know I'm not 'put together'. I'm always running back and forth getting things done and always seem like a mess. Not that I'm a slob, but I only wear jeans and cute outfits for the occasions - if I can wear comfy clothes, trust me, I sure am. That being said, a huge staple for me has been my shoes. Since I don't focus so much on dressing up and perfecting my outfit, I revert my attention to my shoes. I'm pretty basic about them, I only really wear white ones - simple. I love white sneakers because I think they look clean and sharp and regardless of what you're wearing, they match and pull together your whole outfit. I've bought so many different sneakers and even try to get myself out of this habit by buying colorful shoes, but they always end up finding...
